BANJO PATERSON PARK

Public BBQ

Banjo Paterson Park in Collingwood Park once offered a straightforward family barbecue setup that understood the basics of outdoor dining. The undercover picnic tables provided necessary respite from Queensland's unpredictable weather, while the adjacent playground kept children occupied within earshot. The facilities were practical rather than fancy - exactly what you'd expect from a suburban park that prioritised function over frills. The BBQ plates were serviceable, and the shade structures made summer visits bearable. Unfortunately, this reliable family spot has permanently closed, leaving Collingwood Park families to seek their barbecue adventures elsewhere. While it wasn't destination dining, it served its community well during its operational years, offering that dependable combination of covered seating and child-friendly amenities that busy parents genuinely appreciated.
